Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, this vintage Augis pendant features the iconic "+ qu’hier – que demain" motif (more than yesterday, less than tomorrow), a declaration of growing love inspired by Rosemonde Gérard’s 19th-century poem.
Measuring 14.5mm in diameter (22mm including the bail), the pendant displays a horizontal bar set with two synthetic rubies and a natural diamond at the centre of a cross. These stones represent the "+" and "–" symbols from the romantic French inscription.
Made by Alphonse Augis in Lyon, this piece bears the French eagle’s head hallmark for 18ct gold, alongside Augis’ maker’s mark and a signed “A. Augis” engraving. Likely dating from the early to mid-20th century, it embodies the signature design of Augis’ Médaille d'Amour, once a cherished gift between lovers.
A historically rich and beautifully crafted keepsake, this pendant is ideal for collectors or as a meaningful expression of enduring affection.
