Searching for that one-of-a-kind statement piece? This completely unique diamond drop necklace is an enchanting blend of history and artistry. Repurposed from an early 19th-century bracelet and chain, the captivating design boasts dazzling rose-cut and table-cut diamonds set in silver with a naturally dark patina, backed in 18-carat gold. The piece is paired with an 18ct gold lovers knot chain that glows with a radiant yellow hue, believed to be gilded with a high-carat gold over 18-carat gold, resulting in a lustrous and luxurious finish. The diamond sections are connected by original 9-carat gold links, adding contrast and durability to this exceptional design.

The lover's knot chain tests at approximately 19-carat gold, likely due to the high-carat gold gild. With three graduated lengths of chain on either side, mirroring the width of the diamond drops, the necklace drapes elegantly, creating an effortlessly layered look whether worn solo or stacked with your other favourite chains.

The rare, table-cut diamond clasp is a work of art in itself, catching light from every angle and dazzling with its brilliance. It features several French hallmarks, dating the diamond elements to the early 19th century. The fan hallmark, a gold guarantee, was used in France between 1819 and 1838, while the horse's head hallmark was used from 1839 to 1919. Given the hallmarking style and overall design, we believe the diamond elements date back to the early 1800s when sentimental jewellery and intricate craftsmanship flourished.

Measuring 16.5 inches in length, this substantial necklace adorns your neckline with its shimmering diamonds. Although the diamonds show natural inclusions and some wear typical of their age, this only adds character and historical value to the piece. The chain and clasp remain in impeccable condition, strong, secure, and ready for any occasion.

Weighing just over 52 grams, this stunning necklace instantly elevates any outfit. Wear your hair up to showcase the beautiful diamond clasp at the nape of your neck, or reverse the necklace for a breathtaking, unique look with the clasp at the front and the diamond drop section placed at the back, perfect for pairing with a backless outfit.

Whether you’re dressing up a vintage t-shirt or adding a sophisticated touch to formal attire, this piece will be the highlight of your jewellery collection.
