This exquisite antique Egyptian snake bracelet is crafted in solid 22-carat gold, hallmarked in Cairo in 1934 with the purity mark, the Egyptian national mark of a larus facing left, and the date letter "K" for 1934. Date letters during this period used the Western alphabet, which changed to Arabic letters in 1940. There is an additional 22ct gold mark on the underside of the tail, along with a mark on the underside of the snake head, although the latter is illegible.

Egyptian jewellery from this era emphasized high-quality craftsmanship, bold gold designs, and symbolic motifs, capturing the essence of a period that experienced a revival in ancient Egyptian themes. This global fascination, especially following the 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, often translated into jewellery designs that celebrated symbols of protection, transformation, and eternity—such as the snake motif seen in this bracelet. Snakes held deep significance in ancient Egyptian culture, and this piece channels that heritage beautifully.

The bracelet’s snake head and tail are adorned with 23 rose-cut diamonds graduating in size with the largest on the snake head, adding a striking, antique sparkle that contrasts elegantly with the rich, yellow gold. The ruby eyes bring a flash of vibrant red, believed in ancient times to offer the wearer protection and strength. The engraving is exceptionally detailed, with textured scales along the thick gold band and finely etched teeth that bring the snake's head to life. The band itself is thick and substantial yet adjustable, allowing it to mould comfortably to the wrist for a custom fit.

We recommend wearing this piece either on its own or, if stacked, pairing it with smaller bracelets that allow it to fall gracefully over them, reducing the risk of damage to the antique stones and their settings.

Weighing over 53 grams, this bracelet is both a stunning statement piece and a rare collectable. It embodies the exceptional craftsmanship of Egyptian jewellery from this period, blending high-carat gold, intricate detailing, and precious gemstones into a remarkable piece of wearable art.
