This exquisite Art Deco pendant, converted from a stick pin, features a striking rhombus design adorned with a central old-cut diamond (approx 0.25ct) surrounded by mystery-set rubies (approx 0.15ct). The mystery setting, a patented technique pioneered by Van Cleef & Arpels, allows gemstones to be set without visible prongs or metal, creating a seamless and vibrant effect. Though the original stick pin bore faint and illegible marks, we cannot definitively attribute this piece to Van Cleef & Arpels.
Delicate milgrain detailing frames the rubies, while the open sides of the setting allow light to dance through the vibrant gemstones. The pendant is crafted in platinum, verified using XRF testing. The original pin has been repurposed to form a discreet and elegant pendant bail, preserving the vintage charm of the piece.
A timeless fusion of artistry and craftsmanship, this pendant is a true collector’s piece.
